A thorough and thoughtful report- the only thing you did not mention is the fact that every one of the 20 or so people who spoke were informed and articulate and offered a new twist-often personal and... no redundancies- amazing !!

Bravo, Sara! Thank you for writing this insightful article. We DO need space! Not only to serve artists, but to foster development in many other aspects of our local culture. Lambertville, New Hope, and the surrounding areas hold a plethora of intelligent, caring, and hardworking people, who all are trying to make it work in this beautiful place. Creating this "sense of place," I think, will encourage growth and keep the talented, visionary stock of people right here. We can create our cultural atmosphere by providing a supportive community who are willing to look at problems creatively and with respect and sensitivity to one another. I can't wait to see what can happen here!!!

It's a shame that the food and wait service is so good here....the owner is a shady character who waited 4 days before our Holiday dinner to drop a bomb on us. I will admit, it was our fault for not getting anything in writing but you pretty much assume with a small, family run business that you don't have anything to worry about.....WRONG!!! We were given menu packages when we booked the date and the girl who was in contact with the owner gave him a final count and our package selection. No where on the package did it state we would only be getting one entree so imagine our surprise when 4 days before our dinner we were told that we had to pick one entree for 50 people! I never heard of such a thing. Then he started nit picking with the girl about beverages, dessert, etc. After finally agreeing on one entree and the arrangements for the dessert and beverages, he still did not give us a bill the night of the dinner. When I went up there, he blew me off and continued to for a 2 week period. He finally had one of his girls ring me up a cash register receipt with the total amount quoted to us originally (which had already included tax) and then he added the extra amount that he charged us for beverages as tax. He already let one restaurant go out of business and he is just a shady, dishonest businessman. He does not honor the restaurant.com coupons that you can buy on line for his restaurant but he does get his compensation from that website. Do not patronize this jerk's establishment!

Go Dawn! I just went to City Market today after being overseas for six weeks and I was quickly reminded why it is such a wonderful place and why I am so happy to call Lambertville home!

Thank you Sara for writing this column and doing all that you do!
